Milan's Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro recently announced the winners of its first international competition for young (under 40) sculptors. First prize (approximately $12,800) was awarded to the Irish-born sculptor Claire Morgan for an installation of fresh cherries suspended on nylon threads. Hong Eu Young of Korea and Rimantas Milkintas of Lithuania received the second- and third-place prizes (worth about $6,400 and $3,800, respectively). A fourth prize ($3,800) from corporate sponsor Costa Crociere recognized Italy's Laura Renna. Works by the 25 finalists were on view at the foundation's new exhibition space from May 19 to July 28.
