David Ciclitira, Chairman and Founder of KOREAN EYE said, “We created Korean Eye in the hope of introducing Korean Contemporary Art to the world. We are astounded by the level of success and support we have received from the Korean Contemporary Art community, and believe that the exhibition this summer, coinciding with the Olympic Games, will take Korean Contemporary Art to a new level. We are incredibly proud that KOREAN EYE has become an ambassador of Korean culture, which would not have been possible without the support of our partners, Standard Chartered and Saatchi Gallery; for this I thank them.”

The Exhibition will be taking place at the Saatchi Gallery, London and will take up the entire 70,000 sq. ft. gallery space for the duration of the Olympic Games.

This Exhibition also represents the first time that the Saatchi Gallery has curated a full-scale exhibition with works outside its own collection.

Nigel Hurst, Chief Executive of the Saatchi Gallery said, “I am thrilled and delighted to collaborate with ‘Korean Eye’ and Standard Chartered. It is a wonderful opportunity to introduce new contemporary art to London, especially during the Olympics. Korean Eye is set to play a key role in shaping our understanding of the work of this group of artists, and provide a gateway to the wider culture of their homeland, because they have absorbed many aspects of contemporary life in Korea and chosen very individual ways to communicate this; showing extraordinary talent and energy.”

To coincide with “KOREAN EYE London 2012”, a new edition of the KOREAN EYE book, “KOREAN EYE II: Contemporary Korean Art” edited by Serenella Ciclitira, will be published by SKIRA and distributed worldwide by Thames & Hudson.

A catalogue of the exhibition featuring work by all artists in the show will also be published by Booth-Clibborn editions.
