Euyoung Hong Solo Exhibition
Neither Abstract nor Universal
28 February - 6 May 2025
Park Soo Keun Museum
Opening Reception _ 4 March 2025 at 2pm
As the solo exhibition of Euyoung Hong held at the Contemporary Art Hall of the Park Soo Keun Museum, Neither Abstract nor Universal presents new three-dimensional installations that expand upon her Things and Negative Landscape series, which explore the themes of space and objects. Closely observing various changes created by spaces and objects within the systems of daily life in the city, the artist focuses on the points we perceive and those we do not in moments when buildings, things, or places break down and shows how such spaces and objects turn formless in material and immaterial areas; thus revealing new spatial relationships and structures. Euyoung Hong depicts (dis)continuous transformations of heterogeneous relationships—such as those between spaces and objects, materials and concepts, cities and spaces, and humans and societies—by amplifying the material or intangible characteristics of each target.
